MEET KLYNIC

Many musicians start their bio by telling you how they grew up around music, for most of them, Mum or Dad had something to do with music; maybe it was an instrument, just vocals or both. My name is Klyn .C. Akwarandu and I didn't have that luxury :( . Mum is a fashion designer and Daddy a business man, both grew up in their hometown where farming was the order of the day. So here I was, starved of a musical background by nature and nurture.
From a young age I started to develop a predilection for music, I first adored and loved MICHAEL JACKSON, He was my hero, I practically could replicate every dance every I saw him perform on TV.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE
Soon as I turned 7, I started having a certain push towards instruments. I would always arrange a set broomstick on top a flat table and use it as my snare drum on which I will beat hard and use my leg as the bass drum.
Trust me when I say that it was mad fun. Later on in high school I joined the school’s band, where I stayed and played for the best 4 years of my high school experience. This further pushed me to join a choir in my city, where I became the chief drummer.

While in high school, a couple of my mates and I decided to start up an all-male acapella group. We called ourselves "THE SAINTS". I'll save you the gruesome details and simply inform you that I got kicked out of the group for a reason I really cannot remember. I finally graduated from high school and took my choir serious. My choir at the time placed the pianist who played for us every Sunday on a weekly wage, simply because he came from another town. I saw an opportunity there and decided to learn the piano at all costs, my plan was simple, I wanted to help the church save money by becoming a pianist. My dream was finally achieved, and I started to play and finally was made the choir director at the very young age of 19.

My love for music gradually continued to blossom, I started learning and teaching myself with materials from the internet. I soon saw myself playing all the 12 keys on the piano comfortably, and then it hit me..." I needed a music name”, the name part was quite easy because I was already so fond of @Aliciakeys and so I named me after her.

College came knocking after 3 years of sitting at home waiting for admission; I opened the door and welcomed it in. Here I was in the University of Portharcourt studying Microbiology; little did I know that my stay in college will be more musical than academic. I soon joined a choir in school, where eventually I became the chief pianist.

Then I began to experiment and further learnt different instruments. I started with the guitar, and in a few weeks I had become so good at playing it.

My life as a musician took an interesting route when a few friends of mine and I decided to start a rock band... we were called WeR³ - pronounced we R cube

We sure had some good times and recorded a few songs together. Here was our very first video to one of our songs which we titled "I'm a wonder to my world"

we wrote another song some months later, A Hit single that won the song of the year in my school and was also on the number one spot on the radio station in my city ... titled "ARISE AND SHINE" here is a video of the song ....

While in the band I started my own music school where I taught kids and ladies how to play the piano, this led me to author a book which I published 2 years ago ... you can find it on Amazon.... but I'll soon find a way to have it available here on steemit. This book can teach you all the basics you need to know to play the piano by ear, and you can do it all by yourself, from the comfort of your home.

You can get the book on Amazon via this link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Me-My-Piano-Klyn-Akwarandu-ebook/dp/B01NAHI74J/ref=sr_1_1_twi_kin_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1541455909&sr=1-1&keywords=klyn+akwarandu

Sadly enough, my band like most bands suffered a break up, leaving just @the-mobz and I. We still retained the name and have recorded and performed more songs.

THE SECRET
WHAT DRIVES ME
The feeling of knowing that I can change the world with music, keeps me going. For every song I write, I see the world become a better place. For every student I teach, I bless the world with one more skill.
MUSIC HEALS THE WORLD
I have been told this a lot, and the truth is that I believe it.
THEN STEEMIT CAME IN
My music has always been appreciated, especially with people who are in the same environment with me and also within Nigeria. Steemit gave me a new perspective giving me the oppoetunity to put my music on the blockchain. The openmic team led by @luzcypher really made a difference in my life. All the open mic contests I have participated in have always brought out creativity in me, making me write original songs at the speed of light and they all sound awesome too; except they are lying to me ... lol

For me music is life, and having to share it with the world is more like a privilege for me. Now I know that there would always be that issue of protecting your content as a musician as well as ensuring your content receives a worldwide publicity, but that’s why we now have EMANATE.
The reason I am passionate about emanate is simple, they have offered me a reason to enjoy what I have always been doing whilst reaping all the benefits too.
